The Biochem Department warmly welcomes our newest Assistant Professor, Dr. Stephanie Bishop, who joined us in January! Dr. Bishop earned her PhD from UBC Okanagan and was a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Calgary. She uses mass spectrometry-based approaches to understand the metabolic mechanisms that enable microbes to colonize and survive in complex environments. Her main research themes are mapping the host-microbe metabolome, understanding mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, and investigating metabolic cross-talk in microbial communities. We are glad to have Stephanie in the department!
