With the committed support from King’s University College at Western University, CDEAF is dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge related to mental health and deafness. CDEAF recognizes that deaf individuals with mental health issues are a marginalized, under researched and under supported group in Canada. Our vision is to create a forum to advance collaborative thoughts, ideas, and strategies within the area of mental health and deafness.

The WFD works continuously for sign language rights for all deaf people. As part of this work, we are pleased to release a new position paper “Access to National Sign Languages as a Health Need”. National sign languages have a critical role in ensuring deaf people’s optimal mental, physical and social health across the lifespan. Access to national sign languages is a fundamental for optimal health outcomes.
