Dear Upper Year Students,

Are you planning to return to Western next September?

MIT and MPI Senior Students
Remember to file your Intent to Register online between now and Saturday, March 31st, 2012.

To access the online Intent to Register service, log into Student Services - Click on myPossibilities - Click on Intent to Register - Follow the instructions on the online process.

More detailed instructions are available at here: www.registrar.uwo.ca/ITR.

Once you have completed your Intent to Register online, you will receive an email confirmation of your choices to your UWO Email Account. If you want to make further changes to your online selections you can continue to use this process until Saturday, March 31st, 2012.

What happens if you forget to file your Intent to Register online by March 31st?
1. If you fail to indicate your Intent to Register via the online service, you will forfeit priority registration (that means that you will be assigned a very, very late date to register for courses in the summer).

2. Requests to change programs received after March 31st, will not be considered until after course registration ends in late July.

Can I transfer from a Major module to Honors Specialization?
The ITR process is your opportunity to request program changes, including requesting to transfer into Honors, adding or dropping minors and/or certificates. The option of transferring into Honors MIT or MPI is space permitting and the number of spaces (if any) that are available will not be known until May. If you want a chance at a space in Honors, you have to apply during ITR.

MTP Senior Students
Your Intent to Register will be submitted by FIMS. If you wish to make a program change, please contact the Faculty to complete a paper ITR form.

Resources to help you plan your program for 2012-2013
1. UWO Calendar
The calendar contains the course descriptions, program/module requirements for your program (s), grade and graduation requirements. It also contains the important deadlines and rules and regulations of the University. Familiarize yourself with the admission, progression and graduation requirements for the University as well as for your degree/module choices.
2. MIT / MPI Worksheets
To familiarize yourself with your module and degree requirements for MIT or MPI, you can also make use of the worksheets.
3. Degree Audit
To prevent headaches down the road and the unpleasant discovery that you won’t be graduating with your class, please take the time to review your academic record, your program requirements and graduation requirements. YOU are responsible for ensuring that all requirements have been met. Log into Student Service - Click on MyPresent - Run a degree audit.
4. MIT Internship Program
Thinking about an internship in third or fourth year? Check out the FAQs to see what is required to pursue an internship.
5. The Career Services @ Western
Not sure what you can do with your degree in MIT? There are excellent resources, events and services available to support you with your career planning while at Western.

Thanks for taking the time to read this information.

Dear First Year Students,

Now that you've sampled a range of subject areas at Western, it's time to formally select your degree/program/module(s) for next year. Western calls this process “Intent to Register” or “ITR”.

If you do not submit your Intent to Register by March 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm:
• You will miss being reviewed for Limited Enrollment Programs like MIT and MPI
• You will forfeit priority course registration for September 2012

The Online ITR process is NOT available for students applying for Year 2 MIT or MPI.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I submit my Intent to Register for MIT or MPI?
If you are eligible (have met the minimum admission requirements to-date) and would like to apply to MIT or MPI, you must SIGN UP for and ATTEND one information session. At the session, you will receive an ITR form that must be completed and submitted by March 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm.

Login to CareerCentral and sign up for one of the FIMS information sessions entitled “MIT First Year - Intent to Register” (or MPI if that is your interest) listed under EVENTS. https://careercentral.uwo.ca/secure/events/

Space is limited in each session, so please sign up early to get a space in a session that works with your schedule.

Can I get a copy of the ITR form without attending a session?
No. Attendance is mandatory and part of the application process. No ITR forms will be available outside of the sessions.
*Please note, if you arrive late to the presentation, you will not be allowed entry, nor will you receive an ITR from. You will be required to sign up for another session at a later date.*
