Studying finance involves more than numbers.

In our two-year Business - Finance diploma program, students have opportunities to connect with industry professionals through Industry Day, put their financial knowledge into practice through case competitions, and gain hands-on experience through an optional paid co-op. Along the way, they develop client-focused skills, build their professional network, and gain valuable insight into careers across Canada’s financial services industry.

We recently caught up with Brian Malott, a 2006 graduate of Fanshawe’s Human Resources Management graduate certificate and current Indigenous Pathway Engagement Advisor at the college, to hear about how his career has been post-graduation.

From what a typical day in human resources (HR) looks like to the skills he still relies on from the program, Brian shares valuable insights for current and future HR professionals, along with the advice he’d give his student self!

BIN courses give students the opportunity to earn credits toward professional designations like the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Manager (CRM), helping them build a strong foundation for the industry.

Rowena, a full-time student in our Business - Supply Chain and Operations (BLS) program, is completing her co-op work term at the City of London, Ontario as a Procurement Assistant, supporting supplier contract management, shipping and receiving, and monitoring master data.

Rowena’s program, Business - Supply Chain and Operations, is an Ontario College diploma, available in-person (full-time) and asynchronously online (full-time and part-time), with an optional co-op work term that provides students with hands-on industry experience and prepares them for the workforce after graduation.
