We are excited to announce our final event of the year: Election Meeting and Games Night. This Thursday, April 4th 6-8PM in Lawson Hall 1227.

We will be holding a meeting to give nominees running for the History Society Executive a chance to introduce themselves and talk about why they think they would be a good fit for the role they’re running for. Followed by a games night with snacks and drinks. We hope to see you there!

We are excited to announce The History Society's Trivia Bowl co-hosted by the HGSA will take place Tuesday March 26th 5:30-7:30pm at UCC Community Room 269C. There will be trivia, food, and prizes for the winning team. Tickets are $7 for members and $10 for non-members. Members will have gotten a discount code through email. All tickets must be purchased via the USC storefront https://westernusc.store/product/trivia-bowl/
You can come in teams of 4-6 or, individually.

Exams are just around the corner. The History Society is holding exam preparation/study sessions to help you. Join us anytime on Tues November 28th from 1-3:30 PM Lawson Hall Rm 2270C and Thurs November 30, 4:30-6:30 PM Lawson Hall 1227.

TAs and fellow history students will be there for students to help prepare for history exams. This includes doing practice questions, and going over what to focus on when studying. We will also be able to provide advice for final assignments.

We will also provide juice and snacks. Hope to see you there!

Are you looking for a chance to meet history students from across western? Now's your chance!

The JMS Careless History Society in partnership with the Huron History Society and the Western History Society (with a presence from Brescia University College) are hosting a pub night! The event will be March 15th at 6pm in the Beaver Dam! It will feature games, karaoke and a great atmosphere to make new connections and friends.

A small note as with all our events which have alcohol, the event is not 19+ but you will need ID to purchase alcohol

Hello History Buffs!

The History Society is excited to tell you all about our first event of the semester: Halloween Trivia and Costume night! On Thursday October 27th in Lawson Hall 1227 at 7pm

Make a trivia team of between 3-4 people and come out and compete to win trivia. The winning team will get bragging rights as well as a prize.

Also make sure to wear a history-themed costume, the best one will win a prize!

We will be holding an election to fill open exec positions from October 5th at 1pm- October 7th at 1pm, on Western Link.

-all members are eligible to vote (you must be a member to vote so make sure you have joined)

Positions Available are
-Chancellor of the Exchequer (VP Finance)
-Minister of Events (VP Events)
-Minister of Communications (VP Communication)

The History Society is looking for a passionate and engaged first-year student to be our first-year representative!

This role involves communicating club events and opportunities to first-year students as well as helping run multiple events throughout the year.

To be eligible for the role you must be an official club member and a first-year student enrolled in at least 1 first-year history course.

If you are interested, send a brief email to [email protected] introducing yourself and explaining why you think you are a good fit. The deadline for this will be October 10th. And we will be in touch!

This year there are 5 executive positions available: Prime Minister, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Minister of Events, Minister of Academic Affairs, and Minister of Communications. There will be a Zoom meeting on April 4 for canidates to introduce themselves and elections will occur on April 8th.
