Last few week in PROD, students have been learning how audio moves through the studio, then putting it into practice in labs.

Routing microphones, working in Pro Tools, setting levels, troubleshooting, and getting comfortable behind the console.

Learn it. Trace it. Then make it work.

For 43 years, OIART has taught audio in person in our studios here in London. Now our school is facing an OSAP funding suspension.

Rogers tv visited us today to ask what this means for our students. The Ministry’s statement says many of the concerns identified so far have been concentrated in online-only programs. OIART teaches in person.

What should happen to students already in class while this is being sorted out? Watch the report and tell us what you think.

When something isn’t working in the studio, don’t guess. Follow the signal. 🎛️

Understanding signal flow is one of those fundamentals that follows you everywhere in audio, from recording and mixing to troubleshooting a session when something suddenly stops working.

Last week, students put that into practice on the Mackie 1604.
