Hello Historical Studies students! The Historical Studies Society (HSS) and Political Science and Pre-Law Association (PSLA) in collaboration with the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC) is hosting an essay exam preparation workshop on March 14thfrom 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Zoom.

This workshop guides students through strategies to prepare for essay exams. It will be led by Dr. Jordana Garbati, Assistant Professor, Institute for the Study of University Pedagogy (ISUP), Director, Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC).

Hello Historical Studies students! The Historical Studies Society, Language Studies Academic Society, UTM Pre-Law Organization, UTM Sociology and Criminology Society and UTM Career Centre are hosting a LinkedIn Workshop on March 13th from 1:00 – 2:30 pm on Zoom.

In this workshop, Lucille Yi, employment strategist from the Career Centre discusses how to build and strengthen your LinkedIn profile. Join us for this interactive workshop to learn how to build a profile that will impress employers, create a unique headline and summary section, and find out how to look for jobs and expand your professional network.

In this workshop, Yayo Umetsubo, Librarian from the UTM Library, shares how to conduct research and find scholarly literature through Google Scholar.

Hello all! The Historical Studies Society (HSS), Student Association for Geography and Environment (SAGE), Indigenous Centre, and Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre invite you to an Indigenous Sustainability Learning Circle led by Sam Howden on March 2nd from 11:00am – 1:00pm in MN1100. Sam is the coordinator of Indigenous Pedagogy at UTM and will be sharing principles of Indigenous approaches to land-based education, earth work, environmentalism, and sustainability in this two-hour session.

Hi all! The Historical Studies Society, UTM Book Discovery, Language Studies Academic Society, UTM Italian Students Association, UTM Scribes, and Boss Women UTM are hosting a charity book sale on February 27th from 10:00 – 1:00 pm and February 28th from 11:00 – 1:00 pm in the Student Centre. Books will be sold for $1 - $3 and all proceeds from the book sale will go towards Indspire, an organization dedicated to providing resources and education to Indigenous peoples in Canada.
