University of Toronto Mississauga Infant and Child Studies Centre Infants & children engage in free, fun, game-like tasks while we gather valuable information!

The Infant and Child Studies Lab at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) was established in 1973 for the purpose of studying children’s perception of speech and music. Every year since then, hundreds of families from the surrounding communities have visited the campus to participate in our studies. While infants and children engage in game-like tasks at our state-of-the-art facility, we gat

her valuable information about the early development of listening skills. There are four labs associated with the Centre: Dr. Sandra Trehub's Music Development Lab, Dr. Elizabeth Johnson's Infant Language Lab, Dr. Glenn Schellenberg's Music & Cognition Lab, and Dr. Tina Malti's Social-Emotional Development Lab.

Come along with us on an eye-tracking study! At the lab, we are determined to make each appointment as smooth and fun as possible for you and your child. Our eye tracking studies help us understand more about young children's language devlopment. Participating families get sent a newsletter with the results upon completion of the study. If your child is between 6 months and 32 months old, they might be eligible for one. Sign up in the link in our bio
