📣 Big news: Vanier College Receives $120,000 Global Skills Opportunity Grant to Develop a Tool Aimed at Improving Safety for Students Traveling Abroad https://bit.ly/3UmPQME

Vanier College is pleased to announce that the International Education Office of regular programs has received $120,000 thanks to government funding for Global Skills Opportunity projects.

The latest Vanier project that will benefit from the funding involves creating a set of tools to allow Cegeps to respect a new provincial amendment made to Bill 59 the Act Respecting Occupational health and safety. Under the amendment, Cegeps are now considered the employers of students carrying out an internship within the framework of a study program, and therefore have a legal obligation to properly inform, instruct and supervise these students and to do everything reasonably possible to protect them.

Grande nouvelle : Le service de l'éducation internationale de Vanier a reçu une subvention de 120 000 $ de Global Skills Opportunity / Expérience compétences mondiales pour assurer que les stages à l'étranger soient une expérience sécuritaire et positive pour tous.

La subvention servira à tester et à mettre en œuvre un outil d'évaluation des risques et une procédure d'approbation pour les stages à l'étranger, en collaboration avec les Cégeps de Granby et André-Laurendeau.

We are happy to announce that we have raised more than $20,000 for the Sheldon Sazant Memorial Fundraiser and that more donations are still rolling in!!!
This initiative to revive music education was spearheaded by Alena Perout, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Science, whose tireless efforts for the last year made this event a success along with her team Nora Soukiassian, Betty-Ann Woods, Glen Ethier, Marlene Eberhart, Alireza Naziri, and Caleb Jeanty. This event would not have been made possible without them and their months of planning and organization.
