The Monty nomination period has been extended to Thursday April 16th!

Do you want to be on the Earth and Planetary Undergrad exec team? Then you’re in luck because Monty is holding elections right now! Your devoted presidents are now opening up the nomination period for the 2026/2027 school year exec!!

Nomination period opens Thursday March 26th and will conclude Friday April 10th Thursday April 16th!!
Once nominations close, your presidents will reach out to you with the details of campaigning! Campaign period will be open from Monday April 13th to Friday April 17th and will require the creation of a fun, compellingly wacky poster and insightful blurb about why YOU should be a part of Monty’s next superb exec team. Election day will be held on Monday April 20th both online and in person. Don’t take this opportunity for granite and apply now :)

You can of course nominate yourself for a position and all interested individuals will be contacted to partake in the ultra-important campaigning period. Check out out constitution for more info about each position.

The semester is wrapping up quick, and soon we will have to say goodbye to lock in for finals 😞 BUT FIRST!

On the last day of class (Tuesday, April 14th) join Monty outside on the Lower Field by the Picnic tables at 4 pm for some fun in the sun, to celebrate the lovely weather we are having and another school year survived! There will be food, games, activities, and hotdogs (or equivalent) if the man himself is up and running.

The Annual Monty Undergraduate Research Symposium will be tonight at 5:30pm in FDA 232! Come support the undergrads and see what they’ve been working on this year. There will be FREE pizza for all!

Time to clean up the lounge! The Monty execs will be hard at work making it a cleaner place for everyone. The lounge will be unavailable for use this coming Thursday (Feb 19th) starting 5:30 PM. Plan accordingly ;)

To follow-up our screening of Wicked (part 1) earlier in the semester, Monty is taking a trip to the theatres to see Wicked: For Good! Scan the QR code (or click the link in our last list serv) to sign up! Please note that there are limited spots, and it is first come, first serve!

Update on the Motion Regarding Monty Strike for Divestment From Genocide. EPS and ESS undergrads will be on strike from November 18-21. For more details please check the motion link in our weekly list serv!

The Monty Research Information session will take place this Friday at 5:30 pm (Nov 14) in FDA 232. We will discuss applying for undergraduate awards, like the USRA and the SURA, to do research this summer. Also, two profs will be there to share their knowledge. There will be snacks!

Come join us for an inter-departmental ice cream social! Bring your own bowl/cup and a yummy topping to share, and we’ll provide the rest! The event is in the environment building basement (see the MESS story highlight for directions 😉). P.S… please try to arrive right at 3pm so you can enjoy some non-melted ice cream!
