SNED was a student organization at McGill University focusing on building a network of socially-inspired individuals who believe in the change-agents within MICROFINANCE and SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP. SNED is a student-run organization at McGill University which focuses on building a network of committed individuals who are interested in poverty alleviation and promoting the importance of human well
being - on the local and global scale. SNED believes that microfinance and social entrepreneurship are amazing vehicles that create change everyday, affect the lives of people all around the world and bring us closer to a world without poverty. SNED's focus is to raise awareness about these powerful "changemakers" and raise funds to support low-income entrepreneurs and social businesses around the world. To further our success and involvement, SNED is directly affiliated with two key organizations KIVA (http://www.kiva.org) and Grameen America (http://www.grameenamerica.com/) - an American based extension of Muhammad Yunus' Grameen model. In previous years, we have organized McGill's first Microfinance and Social Entrepreneurship conference, and a joint conference with McGill Opportunity International. As such, we also collaborate with the Montreal Microfinance Club (http://www.microfinancemontreal.org). SNED is looking forward to another great year and is always looking for new passionate members, so come learn more and get involved! There are plenty of opportunities to get involved!
