📣 Participants Needed for Research Study!

Are you a Spanish-speaking parent of Latin American descent with a child (ages 4-5 years old) in a French preschool or daycare in the Greater Montréal area?

We invite you to participate in the Culturally Responsive Literacy Project from the Child Phonology Lab.

📚 We are studying how Latino families read with their children in Spanish and French.
🏡 The study includes 4 home visits to assess language development and record shared reading sessions (between parent and child)
🎁 You will receive $50 CAD in gift cards and a children’s book for participating.
👉 The study is currently recruiting more families to participate.

AI voices are not stereotypically monotone, and neither are human voices. We introduced a pipeline to prepare and validate expressive human and AI voices that share comparable speaker identity. We also found that listeners are sensitive to AI-generated speech and do not readily accept that an AI voice shares the same identity as its human source, especially when speech prosody complicates the cognitive judgment. Our latest work, published in Computers in Human Behavior: Artificial Humans, is now available online: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chbah.2026.100261
