JMEC-John Molson Entrepreneurship Club is thrilled to announce the speaker series event Start[ing] Up In Montreal, Insights from the Do-ers!

This two-part event will focus on the first steps of launching a company.

Our first speaker, Judy Nagy, will discuss the “how-to” of assessing and developing a business idea.

Our second speaker, Aws Al-Hasani, will share what the first steps looked like for him and his team as they set out to launch their gaming economics company just this past year.

COVID-19 is speeding up innovations as part of the bioeconomy revolution. In the next decade, we will see biotech deployed at an unprecedented rate with many job opportunities.



District 3’s BioLingual program is a 4-week intensive that enables MBAs and engineers to gain an understanding of the science and the language behind Biotech to work in this emerging field.



The BioLingual program combines active learning and hands-on analysis in synthetic biology, immunology, gene expression and more, culminating in a networking event with biotech scientists and startups looking for co-founders and team members.



The program is offered online on Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9 pm from July 6-29, 2020. No preliminary knowledge in biology is required.

Dear JMSB family

Just as this has been a difficult time for all of us as students, small businesses and nonprofits around our community are also struggling in the face of challenges posed by the restrictions of COVID-19. To help mitigate this situation, Ana Marinescu, an alumnus from JMSB, is setting up a Temporary Taskforce for SMEs. In this endeavour, graduate students from JMSB (MBA, GDBA, MSc, Ph.D., etc. including those who graduated recently) can support the community by volunteering their expertise (be it in business or your personal background) and provide consulting services pro bono to these organizations.
Note that this group is set up temporarily in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and is not meant to replace or in any way hinder the existing efforts of existing JMSB efforts, such as the Small Business Consulting Bureau or the Community Service Initiative.
