🎉 We had a wonderful turnout of 45 students at the CIRMMT Student Orientation on Tuesday! Thank you to all the new and current students who attended.

👋 Our director Marcelo M. Wanderley welcomed students and gave an overview of CIRMMT. The student co-representatives, David Piazza and Kalen Smith, guided new students through all the need-to-know information about the Centre.

☕️ The evening wrapped up with the first Colloquial Colloquium (CoCo), featuring Joseph Chang's presentation on the ResonatorTube initiative. CoCo is a bi-monthly event where students can present their research projects, get feedback, find collaborators, and practice presentations in front of their peers in an informal setting.

We look forward to celebrating our 25th-anniversary throughout the year and continuing to grow our vibrant community of researchers dedicated to music and technology! 🎂🎧💻🔊

Don McLean offers a unique perspective on CIRMMT’s founding and growth, having served as Dean of the Schulich School of Music from 2001 to 2010, during the Centre's formative years.
