The Internships and Student Affairs Office (ISA) is an important resource for all undergraduate Education students. We are responsible for the planning and implementation of the practice teaching component of undergraduate (B.Ed) and graduate (MATL) Teacher Education programs, general and career advising, and undergraduate student affairs and records. We are pleased to share the Call for Proposals for the 2027 Robert Macmillan Symposium in Education (RMSE), a student-led graduate symposium hosted by the Faculty of Education at Western University.

The 2027 symposium will be held on March 11–12, 2027, with the first day taking place in person at Western University’s Faculty of Education and the second day offered online.

Theme: Reimagining Education: Equity, Innovation, and Belonging
Subtheme: Local Roots, Global Impact

Proposals are welcomed from graduate students across disciplines and institutions. Submissions may take the form of papers, posters, roundtables, or arts-based showcases.

The Landon Pearson Centre at Carleton University is offering several student opportunities in 2026–27 to support research and scholarship in children’s rights! The Dr. Joy Calkin Student Awards provide three $5,000 awards to support research projects focused on children’s rights and young children’s everyday lives, with particular interest in early childhood (generally children under six). In addition to this award, The Landon Pearson Centre also offering the Francine and Gerison Lansdown Undergraduate and Graduate Student Essay Prizes offer two $500 prizes on any topic related to children’s rights.
