We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Daryl Haggard as Associate Dean, Research.

She began her five-year term on September 1, succeeding Computer Science Professor Kaleem Siddiqi in this role.

Professor Tomislav Friščić will return to the Department of Chemistry as one of McGill University’s six inaugural Eddie Goldenberg Research Chairs of Canada.

Before joining the University of Birmingham in 2022, Friščić was a Chemistry professor at McGill for eleven years. His new appointment as the Eddie Goldenberg Research Chair in Mechanochemistry and Solid-State Chemistry is part of the Government of Canada’s $1 billion Research Chairs program, a national initiative to attract top-tier researchers in areas of strategic priority to Canada. Friščić is expected to arrive at McGill in mid-2027.

Le professeur Tomislav Friščić retrouvera le département de chimie en tant que l’un des six titulaires des premières chaires de recherche du Canada Eddie Goldenberg de l’Université McGill.

Avant de rejoindre l'université de Birmingham en 2022, Friščić a été professeur de chimie à l'université McGill pendant onze ans. Sa nouvelle nomination à la chaire de recherche Eddie Goldenberg en mécanochimie et en chimie de l’état solide s'inscrit dans le cadre du programme des chaires de recherche du Canada Eddie Goldenberg. Dotée d'un budget d'un milliard de dollars, cette initiative nationale vise à attirer des chercheurs de premier plan dans des domaines stratégiques pour le Canada. Friščić devrait prendre ses fonctions à l'université McGill à la mi-2027.
