2014 Graduate-Level StudentElevator Pitch Day

If you will be convocating at either the Spring 2014 or Fall 2014 ceremonies and would like to have an opportunity to highlight yourself in front of a select group of employers, then the Graduate-Level Student~Elevator~Pitch~Day will give you that opportunity.

What is it?

An~Elevator~Pitch~is a short introduction that a student should have ready in order to sell a prospective employer on their value proposition.

The~Elevator~Pitch~Day is a breakfast event where a maximum of~40~graduate-level student will have a chance to network with a group of selected employers who partner with CMS to recruit graduate-level students. The event will begin with a networking breakfast, followed by the opportunity for each student to deliver a 30-45 second~elevator~pitch~in front of~participating employers~(to be announced).

When is it?

This~free~event will take place on Wednesday March 19th, 2014 from 8:00am to 10:30am in the Hall Building (7th Floor).

What are the requirements?

In order for a student to be eligible to participate they need to be a current graduate-level student (i.e., MBA, Goodman, MSc, PhD, and GDBA/GCBA or other graduate-level certificates/diplomas) who will be convocating at either the Spring 2014 or Fall 2014 ceremonies. Eligible participants must attend an~Elevator~Pitch~Day workshop (register through the Workshop calendar on ConneXions) and submit a 1-page version of their resume using a supplied template (submissions are due by Wednesday March 5th, 2014).

What are the dates/times of the preparatory workshops?

At the workshop we will review the purpose and structure of a successful~Elevator~Pitch. There will also be time set aside for you to prepare and practice a draft of your~pitch.

Available dates/times are:

•~~ ~Wednesday February 26th, 2014 - 10:00am to 11:00am

•~~ ~Thursday February 27th, 2014 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

•~~ ~Monday March 3rd, 2014 - 10:00am to 11:00am

•~~ ~Tuesday March 4th, 2014 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

•~~ ~Tuesday March 11th, 2014 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

•~ ~ Wednesday March 12th, 2014 - 10:00am to 11:00am

You can register for this event on ConneXions in the Events Calendar. Once you have done so, your eligibility will be confirmed and you will receive the 1-page Resume template.
