Every year in August, the second-year Master of Science Applied students (M2) in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy present their Masters' Research Group project. This presentation ends their final semester and is the last step prior to their final practicum.
This year, presentations began with an engaging talk by this year's Lavigne-Smee Visiting Scholar, Professor Heather Aldersey, Queen's University. She inspired the group by sharing her experience developing and implementing community-based, participatory action research projects related to formal and natural disability supports in the community, and her experiences facilitating partnerships between Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) and the University of Gondar in Ethiopia supporting disability inclusion at the University and in Ethiopia. The title : Navigating complexity in community development: the value of relationships.

Au mois d’août de chaque année, les étudiant(e)s en deuxième année de maîtrise ès sciences appliquées (M2) en ergothérapie et en physiothérapie présentent leur projet de groupe de recherche. Cette présentation conclut leur dernier semestre et constitue la dernière étape avant leur stage final.
Cette année, l'après-midi a été amorcé par une conférence captivante présentée par la chercheuse invitée Lavigne-Smee, Pre Heather Aldersey de l’Université Queen’s. Elle a partagé son expérience dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de projets de recherche-action participative communautaire portant sur les soutiens formels et informels offerts aux personnes en situation de handicap, ainsi que son expérience de facilitation de partenariats entre l’Université Queen’s (Kingston, Ontario) et l’Université de Gondar, en Éthiopie. Le titre de sa conférence était : « Naviguer dans la complexité du développement communautaire : la valeur des relations. 👏
