This year, our election process has been updated to respect MSS election guidelines. Here’s how it will work:
🔒 Anonymous Application Process (New This Year)
To ensure fairness and consistency with MSS requirements, all applications will be fully anonymized:
Each applicant will be assigned a number (e.g., Applicant #1, Applicant #2).
Applicants may not reveal or hint at their assigned number in any group chat.
No names will be associated with any blurbs.
Members will vote based solely on the anonymized motivation blurbs.
📝 *Motivational Blurb Requirements*
Your motivational blurb must contain all elements of your electoral campaign, including:
Your motivation for applying
Your relevant aptitudes
Your experiences that prepare you for the role
This blurb is the only information members will see during voting.
📅 Election Timeline
*September 6th at 11:59 PM* — Deadline to apply
September 7th–10th — Electoral campaign period (based on anonymized blurbs)
*September 11th–13th* — Voting period
September 14th — Announcement of elected executive members
🗳 Voting Process
Once the application period closes and we receive the anonymized blurbs from the MSS, we will share a voting form with all current BMSA members.
You will be able to vote once for each position.
The voting period will remain open from September 11th to September 13th.
⚖ Tie or Lack of Votes
If there is a tie or a lack of votes, the co‑presidents will select the new executive member based on their anonymized CV and motivational blurb, in accordance with MSS guidelines.
We strongly encourage anyone interested in leadership, community building, or contributing to BMSA initiatives to apply. We have exciting projects planned for this year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming new executive members.
