Elections for next year’s council are about to be underway! If you would like to take on an executive role for the 2026-2027 academic year, simply email [email protected] with (i.) your name, (ii.) desired position, (iii.) a photo of yourself and (iv.) a short blurb that can be read on the voting form that explains why you would be the ideal candidate. You have until end of day April 10th to submit your candidature! You must be declared as a Linguistics Minor, Major or Honors student to run for a position. Current U0 students can run for an Exec position provided they declare a Linguistics program for next year, and Cognitive Science majors who specialize in Linguistics are also eligible to run.

The campaigning period will run from Saturday April 11th until Wednesday April 15th. Voting will take from Thursday April 16th until Friday April 17th. All declared in a Linguistics program are eligible to vote.

Send us any questions by email! We happily await your candidature!

LINGUA is hosting a bake sale on April 8th from 11-5 in the Leacock lobby to raise money for Ionkwahronkha’onhátie’, a grassroots initiative working to support second language learning of the Mohawk language.

We would love for more members of the linguistics community to be involved by baking something (or multiple somethings) to be sold at the sale! If you are interested and feel that you can commit to bringing a baked good, please fill in the form below with the requested information.
