Le mois dernier, l’Ordre des dentistes du Québec a accueilli les nouveaux dentistes de la promotion 2026 lors de cérémonies tenues à Montréal et à Québec. Nos diplômés en médecine dentaire étaient présents à Montréal pour prêter serment et recevoir officiellement leur permis d’exercice.

A big day for eight of our graduates! 🎓

Last month, the Ordre des dentistes du Québec swore in the new dentists of the Class of 2026 during ceremonies held in Montreal and Quebec City. Our DMD graduates were on hand in Montreal to take their oath and officially receive their license to practice.

👏 Congratulations to Dr. Lancelot A. Brown, DDS'88, on winning the 2026 McGill Toronto Excellence Impact Award. Dr. Brown was honored for his visionary advocacy, inclusive leadership, and the lasting impact of his many contributions to the community.

From serving on the Faculty’s Advancement Board and co-founding the Caribbean Entrance Bursary to help expand access to the DMD program, to funding a dental operatory in the Undergraduate Teaching Clinic, Dr. Brown has made a lasting difference in the lives of students and patients alike.

✨ Sunset views, great conversations, and an incredible alumni community! ✨🍷

Last month’s Montreal Alumni Reception brought together alumni from near and far, faculty members and students including many who were attending the Journées dentaires internationales du Québec. Guests gathered on the 7th floor of the Palais des congrès to reconnect, network, and enjoy a beautiful evening in Old Montreal.

During the event, Dean Elham Emami handed out the Outstanding Student Philanthropy Award to the group McGill Dentistry Gives Back in recognition of their sustained impact and commitment to fundraising for the Mobile Clinic.

👏 Congratulations to Dr. Simon Tran, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, on receiving the 2026 Howard S. Katz Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award recognizes superior teaching, pedagogical innovation, and leadership in dental education at the undergraduate level.

The award was presented to him by President and Vice-Chancellor Deep Saini during the Faculty’s Spring Convocation ceremony.
