The topics covered in the workshop include the following:
• The basics of machine learning
• Model selection and regularization
• Classification methods: linear, nonlinear and classification trees

This workshop is designed for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty, and research scientists from the behavioral, social, educational, and health sciences and other related fields interested in taking a data driving approach to model building and building a foundation for training in the growing field of machine learning.
The general regression model (linear and logistic) should be familiar to participants. Distinguishing the Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Canadian Post-Secondary Student Mental Health.

This project, lead by Dr. Erin Barker from Concordia's Department of Psychology, seeks to assess the impacts of remote learning and service delivery on post-secondary student mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project will examine co-occurring vulnerabilities and stressors that may have modified the impact of COVID-19 related disruptions on mental health for university-enrolled youth. 1-year grant for 100,632.00.
