McGill Osler Society The Osler Society, established in 1921, is McGill's oldest student society. Established in 1921, the Osler Society is McGill's oldest student society.

In the spirit of Sir William Osler, the Society aims to enrich the education of McGill students in medicine and other disciplines with lectures given by distinguished guest speakers, and with the presentation and discussion of papers concerning Humanities and the Social Sciences in Medicine. Furthermore, the Society puts a focus on developing philanthropy among medical students and on exploring enriching experiences that allow students develop into more well-rounded physicians.

The McGill Osler Society ร— BMSA McGill are hosting Art for Reflection & Progress, an immersive art exhibition using art and history to reflect on medicineโ€™s past, take accountability, and celebrate progress toward equity.

This event explores the intersection of medicine, racialization, and equity through visual storytelling, historical context, and creative expression.

The evening will unfold through three chapters:
Where we came from
Reflection & accountability
Where we are now

Hi everyone!

The Osler Society is hosting a special book talk on Wilder Penfield, the founder of the Neurological Institute of Montreal (the Neuro) and one of the greatest neurosurgeon and medical pioneer of the 20th century.

His grandson Jefferson Lewis (journalist, filmmaker, and author), will present the newly released 2nd edition of Something Hidden: The Life of Wilder Penfield. The book tells the fascinating story of the man who revolutionized brain surgery and put Montreal on the map as a world leader in neuroscience.

โœจ This is a must-not-miss event for anyone interested in medicine, history, or the brain!
