Hi YW Diploma graduates!

I am looking for a former student who now does some group work with youth as part of their job and wants to come and share about what you’ve learned in the field in my course “Intervention with individuals and groups” in the fall semester (Mondays 11:45-2:30). You would only need to come for part of the class (11:45-1 or 1-2:30). You can email me directly if interested [email protected] – I can provide an modest honorarium.

Thanks!
Elizabeth

Hi everyone,

Plans are coming along for the AHSC 20th anniversary celebration on Sep 21. Our 2 guest speakers are:

Nakuset, (Human Relations ’00) executive director of the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal &
Maggie Blaise, (Therapeutic Recreation ’00) manager of leisure services at Vigi Santé

Followed by wine and cocktails & a slide-show photo presentation of our first 20 years.

Please feel free to share with former students, faculty and staff. A special email invitation will be sent to alumni.

The diploma is designed to prepare students for a range of professional roles working with youth. This is the only English-language program focusing on youth in Quebec.

Last year, several staff and faculty members of AHSC wore orange shirts to the Concordia Shuffle in honour of Orange Shirt Day (a day in recognition of Indigenous residential school survivors).

This year, the Concordia Shuffle--an annual walkathon to raise funds fo student scholarships--is on Friday, Sept. 15th, and Orange Shirt Day is on Saturday, Sept 30th.

At this year's Shuffle, staff and faculty members from AHSC will be wearing orange shirts at the Shuffle, Sept. 15th for two reasons: to raise awareness of Orange Shirt Day, Sept. 30, a day in honour of Indian Residential School survivors, and to raise funds for a special initiative Indigenous entrance scholarship.
