Our monthly Tuesday evening GSAR training for March included a special presentation by David Hopwood, an Anthropology Professor at Vancouver Island University. The session — "The Identification and Interpretation of Human Skeletal Remains: Implications for Search and Rescue" — covered a number of topics extremely relevant for SAR members, including:
* How to recognize human bone
* How to differentiate human bone from other animal bone
* What can be learned from bones
* Hands on experience with real human bone and animal bone
