Tomorrow is Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Power), the holiest day of the year and is said, by Allah swt, to be better than 1000 months. This is the night in which the Quran was revealed to The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in its final form.
More so, it is believed that one’s past sins are forgiven if the person prays for the entire night as Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever performs Qiyam¹ during Lailat-ul-Qadr, with Faith and being hopeful of Allah's reward, will have his former sins forgiven." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
It is insisted, upon popular belief, that Lailat-ul-Qadr rests on the 27th day of Ramadan as mentioned by Ubay Ibn Ka'b (a close companion of the prophet):
"Indeed he knows that it is during the month of Ramadan and that it is the twenty-seventh night.”
However, there have been many other narrations suggesting that it is in fact on any of the last 10 days of Ramadan:
Narrated by Ibn `Umar:
Some people were shown the Night of Qadr as being in the last seven days of the month of Ramadan. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Seek it in the last seven days of Ramadan. [Sahih Bukhari]
Narrated by Aishah:
"The Messenger of Allah would stay in I'tikaf² during the last ten nights of Ramadan and he said: Seek the Night of Al-Qadr during the last ten nights of Ramadan." [Jami' Al-Tirmidhi]
Narrated by `Aisha:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." [Sahih Bukhari]
So push yourselves and take advantage of not only of this night in particular, but the last 10 days of Ramadan as a means of salvation to clear your hearts of anything that is weighing it down. May all of your prayers be accepted, may you be granted the highest of blessings and may your hearts be forgiven.
JazakAllah Khair ~
