A dedicated team of NC leaders will trade their everyday footwear for high heels, pink wellies and bright flats to take a public stand against gender-based violence.

Participating in the annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in support of Gillian's Place, the “NC Walk Stars” are stepping out and stepping up to raise vital funds and community awareness.

Some of Niagara’s best sips and bites are coming together at NC Craft. On Oct. 16 and 17, the NC Craft Beverage Centre will host the inaugural Cheers Niagara Festival, celebrating the region’s craft beverage and food scene with local wineries, breweries, cideries, distilleries, food vendors, artisan goods, live entertainment and seasonal activities.

Organized by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce, the two-day festival brings Niagara’s local makers together under one roof. Read more ⤵️

This exclusive event will showcase a select roster of NC wines, hand-picked as the "best of the best" premium vintages from the Teaching Winery's more than 25-year history.

"People are in for a sensorial treat, as well as some surprises," said Allison Findlay, Head Winemaker at the NC Teaching Winery and a 2014 graduate of the Winery and Viticulture Technician program.

"We don't often get an opportunity to put this many wines from the Teaching Winery's history on the table at once and taste them comparatively," said Gavin Robertson, Professor and Coordinator of the Winery and Viticulture Technician program and a 2015 graduate of the program.

For more than 27 years, Niagara College alumna Lori Gill, Trauma & Attachment Specialist, Trainer, Consultant & Supervisor, has dedicated her career to helping individuals and families navigate trauma, adversity and mental health challenges, while working to break down barriers to specialized mental health care.

As the Founder and Executive Director of the Attachment and Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing (ATTCH) Niagara, Lori leads a non-profit organization providing free and low-cost trauma-specialized therapy to individuals who may face barriers to accessing care.
