Kai Wiens Family Farm, established in 1987, is a premier wholesale provider of high-quality Niagara stone fruits and berries. With a minimum order of 10 cases, we ensure the delivery of premium produce to our customers. Founded by Kai Wiens, whose parents Johannes and Klara immigrated to Canada in 1967 and started a fruit farm in Niagara on the Lake, the farm embodies a rich farming heritage. Kai, a Guelph University graduate, bought his own 25-acre farm in 1987 and has since expanded the operation to over 130 acres. Our farm specializes in growing strawberries, raspberries, cherries, yellow plums, freestone peaches, Oishee red plums, and blue plums/prunes. The Wiens family, including Kai’s wife Sharla and their sons Dylan and Seth, works together to harvest and pack the farm’s produce, continuing the family tradition of excellence in agriculture. A family run peach and stone fruit farm in the heart of Niagara On The Lake. We are looking for 30 farm employees. We will start pruning peaches in early April of 2027. The job will require start time at 7am and end 6pm Mon-Sat. The job will also include raking brush, thinning/spacing of fruit, and packaging, peaches and plums. We will be hoeing, raking and other physical out door work in all weather conditions. No experience is required but English skills needed.
Wages $17.95/hr.

Just a quick reminder

#921 concession #2 we will gather with candidates, quite a number of candidates, to inform and question what these candidates know and understand about our agriculture community.

This will be a great opportunity to question but also outline some issues.

Certainly land use and industrial building on ag land. (No development fees on ag building)

Our share of the 40+ million dollar irrigation plan that the Tender Fruit growers and Regional government negotiated with the provincial government

Employee housing fees.

Drain line management to avoid future flooding

Provincial Food belt conversion.

Future of Ag committee both municipal and Regional. Will they reinstate and listen to the committee.
