Capilano Lodge

Capilano Lodge This Lodge is one of the most active Masonic Lodges on the North Shore. A diverse group of men, from various backgrounds.

In Lodge, we set aside all of our differences, to focus on a common purpose; to help improve eachother through Freemasonry.

Members of Capilano 164 welcome Bill and Bridgett Milsom from North Shore rescue to receive our donation of $2500. These funds will be used to purchase three equipment packs carried by responding emergency physicians on rescues. We are grateful to have such dedicated volunteer members of our community, that risk their lives and make so many sacrifices to keep our mountains, trails and backcountry safe.
Each year we select a number of local, North Shore charities that support our community throughout the year, to help them to continue their great work!

During the presentation of our talking stick from our Washington brothers, we had the good fortune of having a couple of elders from the Squamish Band, to give us some instructions on how to handle it appropriately, and explain the meaning of the carvings on the talking stick. It made this special artifact even more valuable to us. Thank you!

We are happy to have the one remaining relic after the fire, returned to us from our brothers from Washington Lodge #4 in Vancouver, WA.
This particular piece has been exchanging hands from us to them year after year, for decades. We travel back and forth each year to enjoy each other's company, support the other lodge at their annual installation of Officers. It is a unique opportunity to share this friendship.
Fortunately, this talking stick, carved by a local artist, was in their care at the time of the fire. At the beginning of the pandemic, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel ours which was in the second week of March, 2020. At the time, there was a lot of disappointment, both among our lodge and other local lodges, and more especially, our Washington brothers who had to cancel their trip North to visit us.
In hindsight, it was the best gift we could have had, for we couldn't have foreseen the coming fire. 🔥
Had we decided to move forward with the installation, we would have lost all our treasures!
It goes to show, that what may seem a curse at the time, can actually be a blessing in disguise.
