Opt-out Options:
GuardMe temporary health insurance is mandatory for all new international students unless you fall under either category below:
1: You already have valid MSP coverage
2: You are studying outside of Canada for the Summer (May) 2026 semester.

If either of these two scenarios applies to you, then be sure to apply to opt-out of GuardMe health insurance before the May 22, 2026 opt-out deadline.

As a reminder, GuardMe only applies to new international students starting this term.

Calling all new students! Join the Student Life and Transition teams on the first four Thursdays of the semester for the New to CapU Series. Each week focuses on a different part of starting at CapU, from campus resources and getting involved, to well-being and academic success.

Today's session will focus on Campus Resources and How To's. Learn what support exists at CapU -> resources, services, well-being, leadership and engagement.

Plus, our transition leaders will help answer some common how-to's for navigating the campus and knowing where to go when you're unsure who to ask. No registration required. Hosted by Student Life.
