1️⃣ Get there early to kickoff your orientation with an intro from Unsighted, powered by the Sheridan Student Union Inc.

2️⃣ Explore the campus and find the classrooms and spaces you will use throughout your first term.

3️⃣ Discover Sheridan supports and services and learn where to go when you need help.

4️⃣ Meet other new students and start building your Sheridan community, while enjoying free lunch, games, a photo booth, prizes & more.

Sheridan's Lee Weare was awarded the YIPI Alumni Award to acknowledge his service to the Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) and in honour of his impending retirement from Sheridan at the end of August.

Weare had a long career with Peel Regional Police (PRP) and in Sheridan's School of Public Safety. He was instrumental in establishing the partnership with PRP in 2022 which helps create opportunities for young people to experience postsecondary education, mentorship and careers in public safety.

This summer saw 55 youth graduate from the eight-week program, supported by four student mentors who were previous participants.

"YIPI is a great opportunity to showcase what postsecondary education looks like and the opportunities there are within the College sector for young people leaving high school," said Weare.

While Weare will be retiring, the YIPI partnership will continue thanks to the strong foundation he has established.
