Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women are remembered and recognized on October 4th and every day. We spent time with community on Friday to walk together, remember together, and hear the story of a MMIW. Miigwech to Orillia Native Women's Group and Lakehead Orillia Indigenous Initiatives along with the fire keeper, singers and drummers who created space for remembering and reflection. 🧡

The Office of Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning was thrilled to bring Third Age Learning Lakehead (TALL) back to the Muskoka Discovery Centre with a lecture about reading the world through geography and maps thanks to our own Dr. Gary Pluim. We learned about culture, bias, and the evolution of the 🌏. We walked away thinking more critically after an engaging discussion!
