Last Thursday, we welcomed the 2026 cohort of the Brilliant Incubator program with a lively kick-off event!

Our afternoon was filled with learning, networking, and snacking (of course)!

We can’t wait to see the ideas these innovators will bring to the final pitch day!

Over the past two days, we've been busy connecting with entrepreneurs, partners, innovators, and leaders from across industries, companies, and post-secondary institutions at DiscoveryX, Ontario's ultimate tech conference and trade show.

Our most memorable moments were seeing innovative startups in our ecosystem (including Kiwi Charge, MapleView Energy, and SCOOTY) showcase their cutting-edge technology; hearing emerging startups pitch; exploring keynotes on AI, cleantech, health, and energy; and forming new connections.

We look forward to bringing our insights back to our community and turning them into action!

Recently, we successfully concluded the Unplugged: Rethinking What Powers Us ideathon!

A massive thank you to the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), Student Enrichment, and Ontario Tech University Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) for co-hosting this challenge with us.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to visit Scooty HQ in Brampton with a small group of students, alongside one of our program officers, for an in-person training day hosted by our partners at SCOOTY as part of the Skills Development Fund program we are supporting. 🚀

The full-day session brought together funder representatives, guest speakers, and professionals in the field for hands-on skill building, thoughtful discussion, and real-world learning. Experiences like this give students exposure beyond the classroom and help them build confidence, connections, and practical skills they can carry into their academic and professional journeys.

A huge thank you to SCOOTY for hosting and for being such a collaborative partner. We are grateful to our funder for investing in opportunities that support student growth and meaningful learning.

The Brilliant Series offers online certification courses in artificial intelligence, blockchain, advanced manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. Through this program, learners will gain foundational knowledge of emerging technologies and practical entrepreneurial training.

Developed at Ontario Tech University, the program is entirely self-paced, allowing learners to study on their own schedule while still gaining access to mentorship, community resources, and entrepreneurship events!

We are pleased to share that the 2025 cohort of our Mobility Accelerator program has successfully concluded!

Powered by Brilliant Ventures, this 6-week program supported the growth of early-stage startups by providing founders with expert-led workshops, one-on-one mentorship, technical and funding support, and investor preparation.

The program culminated in a Demo Day where our startup teams showcased their scalable, market-driven solutions in electric vehicle infrastructure, transportation systems, and sustainable urban mobility to an audience of partners and our Brilliant Ventures investment team.

Congratulations to all of our teams! Thank you for letting us be part of your journey. We look forward to continuing to support your growth and eagerly anticipate the impact your innovative solutions will bring!
