Innovation moves faster when we DRIVE together! 🚗💨

On May 26, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our DRIVE partners at Ontario Tech University for a tour of the ACE Climatic Aerodynamic Wind Tunnel

Through the tour, we explored the advanced climatic and aerodynamic testing environments that help SMEs validate their technologies.

The energy continued at Brilliant Catalyst for a productive lunch and networking session, and it was incredible to see our partners from the City of Oshawa, 1855, the Durham Region (The Regional Municipality of Durham), the Ontario Tech STEER Group, and the Town of Whitby come together to share knowledge and insights.

Brilliant Catalyst is launching the first cohort of the New Futures Program!

Funded by , this 24-month initiative is designed to support formerly incarcerated persons in Ontario in achieving economic independence.

This program offers:
- 6 weeks of hands-on tech training & skill development (stipend provided upon successful completion of training)
- A 3-month paid placement in Energy, Artificial Intelligence, and innovation sectors
- A microcredential and certificate from

The first cohort will be held virtually to provide a flexible learning environment. Future cohorts will be offered the choice of in-person, hybrid, or virtual learning to allow customized training schedules.

Last Thursday, we welcomed the 2026 cohort of the Brilliant Incubator program with a lively kick-off event!

Our afternoon was filled with learning, networking, and snacking (of course)!

We can’t wait to see the ideas these innovators will bring to the final pitch day!

Over the past two days, we've been busy connecting with entrepreneurs, partners, innovators, and leaders from across industries, companies, and post-secondary institutions at DiscoveryX, Ontario's ultimate tech conference and trade show.

Our most memorable moments were seeing innovative startups in our ecosystem (including Kiwi Charge, MapleView Energy, and SCOOTY) showcase their cutting-edge technology; hearing emerging startups pitch; exploring keynotes on AI, cleantech, health, and energy; and forming new connections.

We look forward to bringing our insights back to our community and turning them into action!
