Le programme Pharm. D. uOttawa a été très bien représenté lors du congrès canadien de l'Association des Facultés de Pharmacie du Canada (AFPC).

Cet événement d’envergure a rassemblé des leaders en éducation en pharmacie et en recherche en pratique pharmaceutique à travers le pays, offrant une plateforme unique pour partager les innovations, renforcer les collaborations et faire avancer la formation de la relève.

Le programme a particulièrement mis en lumière sa force en interprofessionnalité grâce à une présentation conjointe du Dr Alan Chaput et de la Dre Christine Landry, avec des collègues de Dalhousie et Toronto.

Enfin, une belle reconnaissance pour notre communauté étudiante : Gabrielle Nadon, étudiante de 3e année, s’est distinguée en remportant le prix étudiant de premier cycle pour son affiche scientifique, soulignant l’excellence et l’engagement de la relève en recherche.

Une présence qui témoigne du dynamisme, du rayonnement et de l’excellence du programme, de l’École et de la Faculté de médecine.

The Pharm.D. program was very well represented at the Canadian conference of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFPC).

This major event brought together leaders in pharmacy education and pharmaceutical practice research from across the country, providing a unique platform to share innovations, strengthen collaborations, and advance the training of the next generation of professionals.

The program particularly highlighted its strength in interprofessional education through a joint presentation by Dr. Alan Chaput and Dr. Christine Landry, alongside colleagues from Dalhousie and Toronto.

Finally, a wonderful recognition for our student community: Gabrielle Nadon, a third-year student, distinguished herself by winning the undergraduate student award for her research poster, highlighting the excellence and commitment of the next generation of researchers.

This presence is a testament to the dynamism, influence, and excellence of the program, the School, and the Faculty of Medicine.

Au programme Pharm. D. de l’Université d’Ottawa, nous croyons qu’une pratique pharmaceutique responsable passe aussi par la protection de l’environnement. Rapporter ses médicaments périmés à la pharmacie permet d’éviter qu’ils ne contaminent nos cours d’eau et nos écosystèmes.

Notre professeure, Valérie Simoncic, a représenté le programme Pharm. D. lors du LCL/SDM Pharmacy & Wellness Exhibit Day, une belle occasion de rencontrer des précepteurs, gestionnaires et partenaires du milieu de la pratique.

Cet événement a été l’occasion d’échanger sur nos programmes de stages, le rôle clé des précepteurs dans la formation des étudiant·e·s, ainsi que sur le développement de collaborations.

Nous souhaitons exprimer notre sincère reconnaissance à l’ensemble de nos précepteurs et milieux de stage pour leur engagement essentiel dans la formation de la relève en pharmacie. Leur accompagnement est au cœur d’une formation pratique de qualité et a un impact durable sur le parcours de nos étudiant·e·s.

Merci à toutes les personnes rencontrées lors de cette journée inspirante. Nous avons hâte de poursuivre ces conversations et de renforcer nos collaborations au bénéfice de la profession et de la communauté.

Our professor, Valérie Simoncic, represented the Pharm.D. program at the LCL/SDM Pharmacy & Wellness Exhibit Day, a wonderful opportunity to meet preceptors, managers, and partners from the pharmacy practice community.

This event provided an opportunity to discuss our clinical rotation programs, the key role of preceptors in student training, and the development of collaborative partnerships.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our preceptors and clinical sites for their essential commitment to training the next generation of pharmacists. Their support is at the heart of high-quality clinical training and has a lasting impact on our students’ journeys.

Du premier jour en tant qu’étudiant·e en Pharm.D.… à la première journée de stage de 4e année ✨

Aujourd’hui marque une étape importante pour notre toute première cohorte : le début des stages de 4e année.

Après des années de travail, d’apprentissage et de persévérance, nos étudiant·e·s entament maintenant une nouvelle phase de leur parcours professionnel sur le terrain. Cette transition permet aussi de mesurer tout le chemin parcouru depuis leurs débuts à l’université.

Un immense merci à tous nos précepteurs et milieux de stage qui accompagnent, encadrent et inspirent la relève avec générosité et engagement. Votre rôle fait toute la différence dans la formation des futur·e·s professionnel·le·s de la santé.

Célébrons l'engagement et l'innovation au programme Pharm. D. ! 🎓✨

Quelle après-midi inspirante à l’Espace Innova ! Nous avons eu le privilège de découvrir la toute première après-midi d’engagement communautaire de la relève en pharmacie de l’Université d’Ottawa.

L’énergie dans la salle était palpable lors de la présentation des affiches. Nos étudiant·e·s ont brillamment exposé des projets concrets touchant des enjeux cruciaux : de la crise des opioïdes à la sécurité médicamenteuse pédiatrique, en passant par la santé environnementale.

Le point culminant ? La remise du prix « Coup de cœur du public » ! 🏆

What an inspiring afternoon at Innova! We had the privilege of experiencing the University of Ottawa’s very first community engagement afternoon for the next generation of pharmacists.

The energy in the room was palpable during the poster presentations. Our students brilliantly showcased concrete projects addressing critical issues: from the opioid crisis to pediatric medication safety and environmental health.

The highlight? The presentation of the “Audience Choice Award”! 🏆

Congratulations to the winners and all participants for the rigor and passion invested in these high-impact initiatives. You embody a committed new generation, ready to transform pharmaceutical practice for the good of the community.

Ceci est un moment historique puisque c’est la première fois que ce prix sera remis à un.e étudiant.e du programme de doctorat de pharmacie de l’Université d’Ottawa 🌟

Décerné à un.e étudiant.e de chaque faculté au pays terminant avec succès l’avant-dernière année de son programme, ce prix souligne un engagement exceptionnel et un leadership inspirant dans le milieu académique.

Par son rôle de co-présidente de l’Association des étudiants en pharmacie et ambassadrice du programme Pharm.D., elle s’est distinguée par une implication exceptionnelle dans la promotion de la profession auprès des jeunes.

Elle a animé divers kiosques, séances d’information et activités éducatives, tout en prenant l’initiative d’organiser une présentation dans son ancienne école secondaire au nord de l'Ontario.

Stéphanie contribue concrètement au dynamisme, à l’excellence et au rayonnement de notre école.
