Today we have a Sister Spotlight from our Iota class sister Paula:
Hi everyone! My name is Paula and I’m in the Iota class at Alpha Pi Phi. This past summer I had the amazing privilege of travelling to Istanbul, Turkey 🇹🇷 and Edinburgh, Scotland 🏴 . It was incredible to immerse myself in two amazing cultures and historical cities.
Istanbul was filled with vibrant historical landmarks like the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia mosque and the iconic Grand Bazaar. With views of the Bosphorus sea, delicious Turkish cuisine and incredible historical architecture, I fell in love with the city and its people!
Edinburgh was equally as welcoming! Although vastly differed from Istanbul in its architecture, culture and cuisine, it was still a breathtakingly beautiful city! I got the amazing opportunity to visit Greyfriar’s Kirk, touch the Greyfriar’s Bobby statue for good luck 🤞🏼, see Victoria Street (which inspired Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley) and try traditional Scottish pub food! It was truly an unforgettable experience and I’m truly grateful to have visited!
Salut tout le monde ! Je m’appelle Paula et je fais partie de la promotion Iota d’Alpha Pi Phi. L’été dernier, j’ai eu l’immense privilège de voyager à Istanbul (Turquie 🇹🇷) et à Édimbourg (Écosse 🏴). C’était incroyable de m’immerger dans deux cultures fascinantes et de découvrir des villes chargées d’histoire.
Istanbul regorgeait de sites historiques emblématiques tels que le palais de Topkapi, la mosquée Sainte-Sophie et le célèbre Grand Bazar. Entre la vue sur le Bosphore, la délicieuse cuisine turque et l’architecture historique époustouflante, je suis tombée sous le charme de la ville et de ses habitants !
Édimbourg s’est révélée tout aussi accueillante ! Bien que très différente d’Istanbul par son architecture, sa culture et sa gastronomie, c’est une ville d’une beauté à couper le souffle. J’ai eu la chance incroyable de visiter Greyfriars Kirk, de toucher la statue de Greyfriars Bobby pour porter chance 🤞🏼, de voir Victoria Street (qui a inspiré le Chemin de Traverse dans Harry Potter) et de goûter à la cuisine traditionnelle des pubs écossais ! Ce fut une expérience vrai
