The uOttawa Chemical Engineering Students’ Society (ChESS) is a student run organization that represents Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology students in the Engineering Students’ Society and Faculty of Engineering. We host events such as trivia pub nights and BBQs throughout the year for students in our department. Along with these fun social events, we also provide students with professional

development opportunities such as being able to attend national chemical engineering conferences, go on plant tours and participate in professional case competitions, all to prepare our students for the real world.

We’re so proud to share the incredible achievements of our uOttawa Chemical Engineering students at the 2025 Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference (CSChE) in Montréal!

This year, ChESS had the pleasure of organizing a delegation of 12 students to the conference. Out of 12 delegates, 10 presented and competed, and every single one of them did an incredible job representing uOttawa with excellence.

🥇 1st Place – Hatch Plant Design competition : Michel Beaulne, Louka Laprade, Adam Choukeir, Jérémie Asselin

🥇 1st Place – Reg Friesen Student Oral Presentation: Eniola Adekoya

🥉 3rd Place – Robert G. Auld Student Paper competition: Émilien Roman

We’re so proud of our entire delegation for their hard work, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this amazing journey together. 🎉

Nous sommes très fiers de partager les incroyables réalisations de nos étudiants en génie chimique de l’Université d’Ottawa lors du Congrès Canadien de Génie Chimique 2025 (CSChE) à Montréal!

Cette année, ChESS a eu le plaisir d’organiser une délégation de 12 étudiants pour participer au congrès. Parmi eux, 10 ont présenté et participé à des compétitions, et chacun d’entre eux a fait un travail remarquable en représentant l’Université d’Ottawa avec excellence.
