Sigma Beta Phi was formed to help the young women who share similar passions to unite their individual strengths, to recognize and to accept their uniqueness in order to discover their full potential that lies inside each young woman. The sorority that promotes solidarity among its sisters with the purpose of establishing a climate of trust; in other words we seek to offer support in any aspect of

our member’s life. The founding principles are:
· Solidarity
· Loyalty
· Responsibility
· Support
· Community service

The Sigma Beta Phi Sorority is now comprised of both undergraduate and graduate female students from the University of Ottawa and CEGEP. We demonstrate female empowerment and success on our campus, as well as in our communities, through our pillars:

· High academic achievement

· Volunteerism

· Sisterhood

**Stepping is a unique trait of Sigma Beta Phi and it distinguishes us from the other sororities in the Ottawa region**
