May is Sexual Assault Prevention Month - previously known as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The name change came at a time when the community recognized that raising awareness was not enough.

Take time this month to reflect on how you can take part in preventing sexual violence within your community and to broaden your understanding and knowledge of consent, sexual assault, coercion, and intersectionality.

Throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Week, we aimed to engage and challenge the Carleton Community to have conversations about sexual violence and its impact on campus while raising awareness about the realities of those who are disproportionality impacted. We invited you to share your story and listen to the stories of others, to build a deeper understanding of the lasting impact these experiences have, and to learn how to be a supportive member of our Carleton community.

We created some graphics to engage and educate on various topics. You'll find some definitions, tips and tricks, helpful mainstream media resources, community resources, and prompts for reflection.

We are excited to continue this learning journey with all of you, thank you for engaging with us this week!
