uOttawa - Future Students, Futurs étudiants Les ambassadeurs étudiants sont ici pour partager avec vous leurs expériences à l'Université d'Ottawa!

Que vous soyez présentement à l'école secondaire ou au cégep, on vous souhaite la bienvenue! L’équipe des ambassadeurs est composée d’étudiants actuels provenant de divers programmes et différentes facultés. Ils ont chacun et chacune leur expérience étudiante personnelle à partager. Certains ont fait des échanges à l’échelle nationale ou internationale, d’autres ont participé à des stages de travail ou des placements coop, et d’autres encore sont inscrits au régime d’immersion en français. Que vous soyez intéressés à la vie étudiante, aux résidences, aux programmes d’études ou aux diverses possibilités qui vous sont offertes, n’hésitez pas à poser vos questions! Nous voulons tout faire pour que vous soyez pleinement informés sur l’Université d’Ottawa et sur ce qui vous attend comme futurs Gee-Gees!

The student ambassadors are here to share their experiences at the University of Ottawa with you! Whether you’re in high school or CEGEP, welcome to the page! The members of the student ambassador team come from various programs and faculties. They each have their take on the student experience at uOttawa and would be more than happy to share it with you. Some of the ambassadors have been on national or international exchanges. Some have completed internships or CO-OP placements, while others are enrolled in the French-immersion stream. Whether you’re interested by student life, our residences, our programs or the many opportunities open to you, don’t hesitate to ask. Rencontrez William Lane, étudiant en génie électrique et boursier Schulich Leader 2026!

Originaire de Paradise à Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, William est un passionné de technologie. Après avoir appris par lui-même à assembler un ordinateur, il a décidé en 8e année de créer son entreprise spécialisée dans l’assemblage et la revente d’ordinateurs, une initiative qu’il a poursuivie jusqu’à la fin de son secondaire.

Après avoir fait ses études secondaires en immersion française à l’école secondaire Mount Pearl Senior High (NLSchools) et pris part à des programmes estivaux d’enrichissement en français, William a choisi l’Université d’Ottawa pour son environnement bilingue et la possibilité de continuer à perfectionner son français. Il souhaite y approfondir ses connaissances dans les domaines de la photonique et du transfert d’énergie sans fil grâce à ses études, à des activités de recherche et à des expériences coop.

Nous te félicitons William de faire partie de la relève étudiante dans le domaine des STIM au Canada!

Meet William Lane, an electrical engineering student and 2026 Schulich Leader Scholarships recipient!

Originally from Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, William is passionate about technology. After teaching himself how to build a computer, he launched a business in Grade 8 specializing in building and reselling computers – an entrepreneurial venture he continued throughout high school.

Having completed French immersion at Mount Pearl Senior High School (NLSchools) and attended French-language summer enrichment programs, William chose the University of Ottawa for its bilingual environment and the opportunity to continue developing his French-language skills. Through his studies, research opportunities and co-op experiences, he hopes to learn more about photonics and wireless energy transfer.

Congratulations, William, on being part of the next generation of STEM leaders in Canada!

Nous félicitons Alexandria McCully, étudiante en chimie et boursière Schulich Leader 2026!

Cette Néo-Écossaise originaire de Brookfield est passionnée par les sciences et les mathématiques. Ses champs d’intérêt se sont précisés en 9e année grâce à Techsploration, un programme qui fait découvrir aux jeunes femmes et aux jeunes de la diversité de genre les carrières en sciences, en génie, en technologie et dans les métiers spécialisés.

Alexandria s’est aussi distinguée par son engagement à la vie scolaire et communautaire à la South Colchester Academy. Rédactrice en chef de l’album des finissantes et finissants, coprésidente du conseil étudiant, membre de plusieurs comités, choriste et joueuse de volleyball, elle a multiplié les implications avec enthousiasme. Son engagement lui a notamment valu la Médaille du lieutenant-gouverneur en 2025 et la Médaille de la reine Elizabeth II en 2026.

À l’Université d’Ottawa, Alexandria désire tant participer à des projets de recherche que participer à des clubs et des ligues sportives intramuros.

Congratulations to Alexandria McCully, a chemistry student and 2026 Schulich Leader Scholarships recipient!

Originally from Brookfield, Nova Scotia, Alexandria is passionate about science and mathematics. Her interests became more focused in Grade 9 through Techsploration, a program that introduces young women and gender-diverse youth to careers in science, engineering, trades and technology.

Alexandria also distinguished herself through her commitment to school and community life at South Colchester Academy. As yearbook editor, student council co-president, member of several committees, choir member and volleyball player, she embraced every opportunity to get involved. Her contributions earned her several honours including the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal Award in 2025 and the Queen Elizabeth II Medal in 2026.

At the University of Ottawa, Alexandria hopes to become involved in research while participating in clubs and intramural sports.

Congratulations, Alexandria, on your commitment and contribution to the next generation of STEM leaders in Canada!
