A few days ago, our brothers at Alshareef Islamic Centre shared the difficult news that Alshareef Musalla will permanently shut down and lose its storage soon unless the community steps in.

However, we have an INCREDIBLY UPLIFTING REASON for you to take action today: the demand for our Musalla is actually still growing.

Even though our physical doors have been closed for six full months, we remain the top Musalla in Nepean when people search for "mosque" .

In the August 2026 Google performance report, our community is actively seeking us out:

• Searches are up 35%, with 176 queries searched "Alshareef Musalla"

• Requests for directions grew by 10%, that's 65 people actively traveled to the Musalla using Google maps _this_ month, found us closed, and called us.

• Social media visits increased by 5%, that's 550+ unique visitors.

• The top search terms driving this traffic are "mosque" (74 searches), "masjid" (35 searches), and "mosque near me" (31 searches).

The community's need for this space hasn't faded it is stronger than ever.

There's a key difference in succesful parents.

Today is the first day back to school in Ontario and many other places. Are you worried about your kids going back to school? Are you worried what will happen to them on the first day? Will they meet good friends or will they be bullied by bad company? What if they fall or be hurt?

It's natural to be worried about your children. But there's one thing that makes some parents successful. They are always ready to do what they can.

Here's what you need to do right now:

1) Praise and thank Allah for the Past

You raised them the best you could. Breathe.

Good character comes from years of effort. Imagine a farmer who struggled to plant seeds. No matter how much they worry, they have to wait for the plant to take its course. Parenting is like that. Be patient and wait for the flowers to blossom. 🌼 🌸

2) Pray For Their Protection, in the Present

Every morning, the Prophet ﷺ would put his hand over the heads of his grandchildren in the morning, and recite Ayat Alkursi. No evil would inflict the child throughout that day until sunset, he taught us. Most duaa for protection lasts for half a day. That's why we have morning and evening athkar or wird, which are Arabic words that imply a routine of remembrance of the Almighty. There's a good reason why all duaa for protection lasts a day usually. Duaa is for us to remember OUR NEED for Allah in our lives. The self needs to be humbled. The heart needs solace. And the mind needs peace. The sincerity club needs daily renewal.

3) Plan a Prosperous Future

From a better slice of bread, to a better school. Parents have an instinct to choose dearly for the sake of their children.

No parent wants to feel that remorse seeing their child scraped their knee badly when they could've purchased a better knee protection and didn't.

But with the beginning of each school year, many parents get overwhelmed and financially exhausted with the ever growing list of supplies.

Fortunately, the Prophet ﷺ said that even the smallest donation can still prevent major misfortunes.
