Technology Innovation Management (TIM) is a unique Master's program for aspiring entrepreneurs who are serious about creating wealth at the early stages of company or opportunity life cycles. The program focuses on the launch and growth of technology companies and growth seeking initiatives of existing companies. The program provides benefits to founders of new companies, people seeking more senio

r leadership roles within established companies, and talented professionals building credentials and expertise for their next career move. The program started in the mid 90s as the Telecommunications Technology Management (TTM) program and has been very successful. TIM has broad appeal and provides benefits to founders of new companies, people seeking more senior leadership roles within established companies, and talented professionals building credentials and expertise for their next move. The program offers an M.ASc., M.Eng., M.Ent., ad M.A.B.A. In addition to classroom based learning, the program specializes in research at the boundary between engineering technology and the management of engineering processes. Close links are maintained with the engineering and technology communities, allowing students to do research of current theoretical and practical significance. Research results provide useful contributions to the management of engineering processes in technology based industries. 🚨 Less than two months to go until the 2026 TIM Showcase!

Hosted by Carleton University and the Sprott School of Business’ Technology Innovation Management (TIM) program, the annual TIM Showcase is an event filled with excitement, inspiration, and connection as the projects and talented individuals from the TIM student and alumni community are showcased.

The event also serves as a bridge between the TIM program and the broader community, welcoming professionals interested in connecting with top talent, fostering innovation leadership, and accessing university resources for company growth.

If last year is any indication, this is an event you will not want to miss. Over 200 attendees filled Richcraft Hall, creating an incredible atmosphere of ideas, partnerships, and conversations across Ottawa’s innovation ecosystem.

This year’s Showcase will highlight impactful student projects, feature a special presentation, and conclude with a networking-style career fair bringing together students, alumni, employers, and industry professionals.

What are quantum technologies? What opportunities do they create and why does it matter for Technology Innovation Management?

That is the question we explored last week at TIM’s Quantum Technology Opportunity Workshop at Carleton University ().

Quantum is moving beyond theory into commercialization, strategy, and ecosystem development. From post-quantum security to new venture and application opportunities, the shift is already underway.

As the TIM program, a key takeaway is that this is about strategic literacy. Understanding how breakthrough technologies transition from research to market is core to innovation leadership.

The next wave is not hypothetical. Preparation starts now.

Follow us for more of what we do at the TIM program, at the centre of the art and science of doing new things.

Winter 2026 is officially underway — and what a powerful start!

This morning, we welcomed the newest members of the Technology Innovation Management (TIM) community at our Winter Orientation. It was an energizing kickoff filled with conversation, curiosity, and connection.

✨ From the moment doors opened, the room buzzed with excitement — new students met peers, faculty, and staff, and began discovering what it means to thrive in an AI-First graduate program designed for innovation, leadership, and impact.

The TIM experience is built around real-world learning, community support, and bold thinking. Today’s orientation sparked the beginning of that journey.

To our new cohort: we’re so excited to see what you’ll build, lead, and transform this term.
