You are warmly invited to the annual Trent Temagami Colloquium! The trip is an annual event sponsored by a number of academic programs at Trent, and moves the university out of the classroom and onto the land. The colloquium endeavours to introduce students to the study of Canadian, environmental, and Indigenous issues. This unique event celebrates interdisciplinary, experiential learning. But a s

pecial invitation is extended to all international students. Wanapitei has been selected primarily for the beauty and remoteness of its location. Away from the urbanized south, the Temagami country is rich in history and home to generations of Teme-Augama-Anishnabai. Each day, faculty and students will organize into small groups for guided hiking and canoe trips in the immediate region. Expeditions will be tailored to suit the skill level of participants. Instruction in canoeing will be offered to those indicating an interest. Each group will pack a lunch and eat on the land. Late afternoon and evening programs will include lectures, films, readings, square dancing, and informal discussion. Participants need to bring warm sleeping bags and clothes. More details are provided once you register. But space is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

It looks as if rain is in our forecast -- please dress and pack accordingly with a raincoat, extra socks, and an extra pair of shoes. Also, as temperatures are dropping at night, be prepared with a toque and a heavy sweater. Don't forget a flashlight! See you all tomorrow at 8:30am.
