In the 2-semester Construction Skills program you will be trained in carpentry/framing techniques, hand and power tool usage, blueprint reading, electricity basics, plumbing basics, welding, computer drafting and applied construction mathematics.The focus is on carpentry, as well as an on trade-related health and safety measures. You will also learn the regulations and skills required to work in construction.

Construction Skills Students volunteered their time, materials and skills to build this inviting chair. Graeme Tilley, Tyler Pearson and Daniel Schilling designed and constructed the chair for the PKHBA (Peterborough and the Kawarthas Home Builders Association) Chair Challenge and Auction to benefit Five Counties Children's Centre. The Auction and Chair Challenge judging takes place Thursday April 18th.
