Named for famous Canadian inventor and engineer Sir Sandford Fleming, Fleming College features more than 90 full-time programs in Business and Technology, Continuing Education and Skilled Trades, Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Visual Arts, Education, Health and Wellness, and Law, Justice and Community Services. Grade 12 students recently stepped into our Biotechnology labs for a hands-on day of DNA extraction, genotyping, and scientific discovery. From extracting their own DNA to building confidence with lab equipment and techniques, students experienced what post-secondary science education is really like.

This immersive Lab Day gave students a glimpse into exciting careers in biotechnology, healthcare, environmental science, forensic science, and more.

Graduating June 9 or 10? Here are 5 things you need to know before you cross the stage:

1 – When your ceremony is! Check out flemingcollege.ca/convocation for the full schedule and make sure you arrive an hour early to be gowned and get organized.

2 – You can grab your convocation merch before or after the ceremony! The will be on site and fully stocked with keepsakes to help you commemorate this milestone.

3 – Make sure you charge your phone, wear comfy shoes, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!

4 – Keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly, especially if you’ll be taking photos outside before or after the ceremony.

5 – Take lots of photos and celebrate your achievement! Tag in your convocation pics so we can celebrate with you 🎓
