age with your cohort and be exposed to diverse industry and business backgrounds that help "develop entirely new ways of thinking". - Rob Quibell, MBA 2008

Students cover the major disciplinary areas including strategy, economics, accounting, finance, organisational behaviour, marketing, management of technology and operations management. Participants learn to interpret the organizational environment and adapt new management practice to new demands. Students have the option to undertake a project under faculty supervision, applying relevant theory to study a substantial organisational issue. Alternatively, students may forego doing a project and instead complete their MBA entirely through course work. Students can choose from two locations: Prince George, British Columbia, at the UNBC Campus or Vancouver, British Columbia, at the Langara College Campus. The total length of the program is 21 months or 5 semesters.

Back to school – UNBC MBA edition!

Last week we welcomed the 2024 and 2025 MBA cohorts to the UNBC Prince George campus for Foundation Week where connection, learning (inside and outside the classroom!), and adventure were on the agenda.

MBA students and faculty travelled west to Fort St. James to meet with FPX Nickel where they learned about the company’s business collaboration with local First Nations. The group made a stop in Vanderhoof to visit the White Sturgeon Conservation Centre.

The business networking continued with a field trip south to Quesnel and Barkerville Historic Town & Site. In Quesnel they met with Joel McKay, City Manager (and UNBC Board of Governors Chair), and toured the West Fraser wood manufacturing facility before stopping in Barkerville for an engaging presentation on the business side of managing a busy not-for-profit.

Foundation Week sets the tone for the MBA journey of leadership, innovation, and impact – this is what it means to be part of the UNBC MBA community. Thanks to all the organizations for their warm hospitality!

Place yourself in this community when applications for the 2026 MBA cohort open soon!
