📋 Research Opportunity: Supporting Children Exposed to Violence 📋
We are sharing the following research opportunity on behalf of Drs. Kaila Bruer, Crystal Giesbrecht, and Kristi Wright at the University of Regina.
In collaboration with the Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan (PATHS; https://pathssk.org/), we are inviting professionals to participate in a study titled Understanding Supportive Adult Responding in Services for Children Exposed to Violence in Saskatchewan. This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Regina Research Ethics Board [REB Approval #2145].
The study focuses on how professionals working in Saskatchewan respond when children or youth talk about frightening, violent, unsafe, or upsetting experiences. We are interested in hearing from people who work with children, youth, families, or service systems connected to family violence, intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, or other stressful or unsafe experiences.
Participation involves a brief online questionnaire that takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Participants who complete the questionnaire may enter a draw for one $100 Amazon e-gift card.
At the end of the questionnaire, participants may choose whether the research team can contact them about possible follow-up participation. Follow-up participation may involve an individual interview or focus group. Individual interviews would take approximately 30–60 minutes. Focus groups would take approximately 60–90 minutes. Participants who complete a follow-up interview or focus group will receive a guaranteed $60 honorarium.
