⏳ From Classroom → Courtroom

R v. Jordan shows how a Charter right becomes real in practice. What we study as “reasonable time” under s. 11(b) turns into strict timelines and when the Crown exceeds them, charges can be stayed.

R v. Jordan made delay a constitutional issue, pushing the system toward better case management, fewer inefficiencies, and real accountability for adjournments.

What it teaches future legal professionals:
• Legal theory shapes real outcomes
• Court decisions can shift entire systems
• Rights are enforceable, not symbolic
• Lawyers help uphold constitutional protections
• Justice needs both fairness and efficiency
