Department of Film - University of Regina On Treaty 4 territory, the Department of Film at the University of Regina offers the only BFA in Film Production between Vancouver and Toronto.

The Department also has BA and BA Honours programs in Film Studies, as well as MFA and MA degree programs. The Department of Film (formerly Media Production & Studies) at the University of Regina, offers the only BFA in Film Production between Vancouver and Toronto. The Production and Studies programs are integrated and cross-pollinated; they offer streams in documentary, narrative and experimenta

l forms and allow students to focus on each mode in depth. Graduates from our programs include independent filmmakers whose films have screened around the world; producers, writers, directors, editors, cinematographers, crew members, curators, festival programmers, and educators.

Congratulations to Mona Navaei Roshandel on successfully defending her Master of Fine Arts in Film Production thesis, "In My Hands, You Remain."

The external examiner was Dr. Kelly Egan of Trent University. Mona’s supervisory committee consisted of her supervisor, Prof. Mike Rollo (Film), with Dr. Jonathan Petrychyn (Film) and Prof. Kyath Battie (Film) serving as committee members. Dr. Philip Charrier (History) chaired the defence.

Erika Ospina Almanza has successfully defended her Master of Fine Arts in Film Production thesis, "Palijuna." The external examiner was Prof. Éléonore Goldberg of Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Erika's supervisory committee consisted of Prof. Gerald Saul (Film) and Prof. Mike Rollo (Film) as co-supervisors, with Dr. Matthew Thompson (Film) serving as a committee member. The defence was chaired by Dr. Ken Wilson (English).
