The University of Regina Theatre Department is thrilled to announce that Dr. Michael Reinhart has accepted the Assistant Professor in Devised Performance and Theatre Creation tenure-track position effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Reinhart is a theatre/performance creator, devised performance scholar and theatre instructor. Their work (both creative and academic) is based on exploring interdisciplinary art-making and collective-driven devised performance creation. Much of their research has occurred through collaboration with [elephants] collective (elephants collective) and boundary conditions/performance assembly, both of which they are a founding member of.
As an educator, Michael has taught at Brock University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Randolph College for the Performing Arts and the University of Toronto. Michael maintains a busy artistic practice as a creator, director, performer, and dramaturg, select works include; “A Wake for Lost Time” (toured nationally, 2014-2020), “4.5 (ig)noble truths” (toured nationally, 2016-2020), “Operations (1945-2006 ):Movements” (Nuit Blanche Toronto, 2018), “ARTSTAR” (Nuit Blanche Toronto, 2019), “A Kitchen Sink Drama” (Buddies in Bad Times, 2017), “Surplus Party Guest” (Katzmann Contemporary, 2017). Currently, Michael is creating a new performance for this Fall's Nuit Blanche, commissioned by the City of Toronto.
