Up next in the Growing Nonprofits Series: Conflict in the Non-Profit Sector Workplace

Conflict is inevitable when people work together, but it doesn’t have to be destructive. This session explores why conflict happens, how we respond to it, and how to navigate difficult conversations in a way that preserves relationships, trust, and your organization’s mission.

Participants will learn a practical model for addressing conflict and resolving disagreements, with opportunities to practice new skills and work through real-life examples from the nonprofit workplace.

Facilitated by Sara Lambert, Qualified Mediator and Workplace Investigator, this session is ideal for nonprofit leaders, staff, and anyone looking to build confidence in handling workplace conflict.

We gathered for a special chapel service to bless and dedicate the chapel space for use as an Indigenous smudging space. Dr. Elder Lorna Standingready led us in a smudging ceremony, followed by an order of blessing and gratitude by members of the mâmawi-itohtêwak: Walking Together committee.

Together, we recognized the significance of this space and the many sacred places that connect us to one another. This is one way we continue to put our commitment to reconciliation into action and create space for Indigenous traditions, culture and spirituality within our community.
